DAY 16

John answered them all, “I baptize you with water. But one who is more powerful than I will come, the straps of whose sandals I am not worthy to untie. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. His winnowing fork is in his hand to clear his threshing floor and to gather the wheat into his barn, but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.”

Reference – THE GOSPEL ACCORDING TO LUKE : Chapter 3 Verses 16, 17 ( NIV )

Abba Father, as we come into your presence , we give you praise and glory. Blessed be the Name of the Lord God our Father. All power, honour and majesty belongs to you Lord, our everlasting refuge. Lord, we come into your presence with repentant hearts, for we have sinned against you and have fallen short of your glory. Abba, we have become like sheep that has lost its way . Abba , forgive us , for we have tuned into other frequencies which have made us almost deaf to the sound of your tender voice calling out to us. As one by one all the prophecies in your Word are getting fulfilled ; as the time for the return of Jesus, our Everlasting King is soon approaching , help us journey this mortal world listening only to our Shepherd’s guiding voice . Lord, because of your mercy , because of your grace , we have not yet perished . We thank you for your loving kindness dear Father. Teach us your righteous ways so that we may stick to the narrow path which leads us Home . We pray for our brothers and sisters in Christ. We pray for the world we live in. We pray for an awakening in Christ and a revival of your people. May we produce fruit in keeping with repentance. Lord, help us live a life that is pleasing in your sight . Abba, help us all to be like the wise five virgins who were ready to receive their groom. Help us to be prepared for the day of your return. Please help us not lose sight of what is important in life , especially in these perilous times. The axe is already at the root of the trees and all that is happening in the world bears testimony for the same. Abba ,have mercy on us your children. We pray for everyone who is in pain and suffering . Have mercy on us Father. Have mercy . Heal us dear Jesus .Deliver us and fill us with your Holy Spirit . May we always remember that we are called to be a royal priesthood, that we are the temple of God and we are to be holy because you our Father is Holy. May the precious blood of our Lord Jesus Christ cleanse us from all our sins and save us from the Almighty’s wrath and judgement. Abba, we thank you for all your providence and protection. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Father, give us a sound mind ; give us self control, patience, endurance and perseverance in these tough times. May we always remember that your promises are true and the Crown of Life awaits those who finish the race ; those who persevere under trials. Abba, help us rejoice in the truth that even if the lion cubs go hungry those who seek you will lack nothing. You alone can fill our hearts with joy , peace and love. May we stay focussed on Christ Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith , for he is the life and the resurrection. Jesus, help us to follow what you taught us – to love the Lord with all our heart, soul, mind and strength and to love our neighbour as we love ourselves. Lord, strengthen us, guide us and help us. Thy kingdom come , thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. For thine is the kingdom, the power and glory , forever and ever . Amen .
